Buying notes
Confirm these points before inquiry so the quotation can be practical and specific.
- Lock the acceptance standard (ASTM/EN/JIS/GB) with the grade name.
- State thickness/section, width or length, and cutting needs.
- Confirm impact test or JR requirements when EN structural grades apply.
- Share destination port and packing method for plate or coil lots.
- Request MTC 3.1 and heat traceability on bundle or coil tags.

Category FAQ
Category FAQ
Is A36 the same as S235JR for quotation?
They are both common structural grades but live under different standards. Do not substitute without project approval; quote the grade and standard written in the PO.
What should a plate RFQ include?
Grade, standard, thickness, width, length or cut size, quantity, tolerance, MTC type, and destination port.
Can you supply both coil and plate in one inquiry?
Yes. Separate line items by form, size, and quantity so packing and MTC lines stay clear.
When is S355 preferred over S235?
When the design needs higher strength under EN structural specifications. Confirm impact and delivery condition with the engineer of record.
